Bran Castle
Most people know Bran Castle as “Dracula’s Castle”, from Bram Stoker’s novel. This story is loosely based on Vlad Tepes who ruthlessly defended this part of Transylvania, and in the process, the legend of his rather gruesome killings inspired the story of Dracula. Bran Castle it’s an amazing example of 14Th century Gothic architecture that looks like it was carefully placed on top of a mountain. It was used to protect the border between 2 provinces Transylvania and Wallachia. It was donated in 1920 to the royal family of Romania, Queen Maria and King Ferdinand. We’ll share with you the stories and legends around this castle that have intrigued people for centuries.

Peles Palace

Peles PalaceIf you could have a party anywhere, this is where you’d have it. It’s over-the-top opulent with 160 rooms, a lot of them with different themes, like the Turkish and Moorish salons, rooms designed in Baroque and Rococo. Amazing carved and inlaid wood floors, panels, and ceilings, statues, paintings, armour and weapons, luxurious furniture, leaded glass windows. From the outside, the castle looks like a really nice hunting lodge with statues and fountains on the grounds, and an elegant clock tower. It’s on a hill surrounded by rich forests and the towering peaks of the Carpathians. It gives a whole new meaning to ‘living like a king.’ There’s an Orthodox monastery nearby where the royal family lived while Peles Palace was being built.

Pelisor PalacePelisor is a fantastic Art Nouveau Castle build at the beginning of the 20Th century by Queen Maria & King Ferdinand of Romania. Every room has the fingerprint of queen Maria's taste of art. This Castle is impressive as Peles but smaller and with a fresh design. The highlight of Pelisor is the golden plated room where Queen Maria past away in 1938.
